the Very busy month of February

February was a very busy month at our house.  We had 2 birthday parties for Caleb and went on vacation.  Therefore, there are A LOT of pictures for me to share.

Happy 5th Birthday to my boy!
I know it's a bit late to be posting for his birthday, but better late than never!
Here is my boy, just shy of 2 years old.  Isn't he sweet!

And here he is now-5 whole years old!

Caleb's 1st friend birthday party 2/13/10
My first attempt at a Star Wars cake.  It's a Tie Fighter that I frosted on there.
Tim made me put "May the force be with you" instead of "Happy Birthday"
Caleb with his best buddy, Ty
Our fort for the year.  Now that the snow is melting, this will be it.
Thankfully Tim got both in the fort before Caleb decided to step on it.

Playing Dress up.  I was laughing hysterically when Caleb
walked in with this suit on.  I just couldn't stop laughing.

Disney Cruise 2010
Our first night in the hotel in Orlando.  We left on Saturday to get into town and not risk our lovely MN weather ruining our trip.  It worked out very well to be able to spend one night in a hotel first.  The kids just wouldn't go to sleep that night though.  They were laughing hysterically when we tried to put them in the same bed.  Finally, after I took some audio of them laughing, I took Ellie in our bed and Tim layed with Caleb until they were both asleep.  I took this picture right before I went to sleep that night.

They LOVED the hot tub. We had to pull them out after a while
because we were worried that they were getting too warm.

First time meeting Mickey Mouse.  Ellie LOVED meeting
all the characters.  Especially the Princesses--see below
With Grandma G!
We took advantage of the free "daycare" one evening
and had an adult only dinner.  It was quite nice!

Meeting Belle!  This is her favorite princess.  She has the dress
and wears it all the time.  She did get to meet Sn.ow Whi.te,
Cind.erella and Prin.cess Tia.nna as well, but Belle is still her fav!
Can't you just see her excitement!
On the island of Nas.sau.  We visited the resort called At.lantis.
They have a huge aquarium there.  Caleb was in heaven!
Caleb didn't Love the beach so much, especially the water.
He did, however, like the fact that the water tasted like salt.
He did have fun playing in the sand though so the whole day wasn't
a bust for him.  I think there were just too many people around on the beach.
Ellery had a ball in the water and almost didn't want to get out to
go get her hair braided.  she ended up nearly falling asleep while
the lady was braiding her hair.  She tolerated it quite well.  The
post below this one has a video of her getting her hair
braided.  I think it's pretty funny!
With Papa.
Cap'n Hook was Caleb's favorite character on the ship.  He also liked Mickey and Goofy
The only night I dressed the kids up.  I decided we needed some pictures.
A big Thank You to Grandma G and Papa for
taking us on this cruise!  We all enjoyed it very much!!!!

The Family Birthday Party 2/27/10
This time, I succeeded in making Da.rth Vad.er.  Tim was quite a
help with the frosting of the face (I am being serious!) even though
I was a bit annoyed with his perfectionism.
With Myla and Ellery at his birthday party.

Baby Update

Thought I would share with all of you who keep up with us.  We found out last night that we are having a baby. . .

GIRL!!!

The kids were pretty indifferent to the news today.  I don't kno if they really get what is coming to our house in July.  I am quite excited.  It will be fun to have another little girl and I think it will be good for Ellie to have a sister.

That's about all I can say right now because our hard drive on the computer is failing.  I'll update with pictures of the kids once I get all settled with our new hard drive.

So, I'm a little late...Christmas presents and some snow

Happy New Year-a little belated!

Ellery with her new hair and ALL of her princesses and princes.  She just recently told my mom she needs more princes.  Tim thinks these two have it pretty good ;)

Fun in the snow yesterday since it was FINALLY a decent temperature.  Caleb said he didn't want to go outside, but once we convinced him to go, he didn't want to come back inside.  We went sledding down the little hill in the neighbor's yard and just tried to navigate since the snow is pretty deep here.
Playing in her room.  She does so well at "quiet time" staying in her room for 1.5 hours or so just playing with her dollhouse and princesses.  It's nice for me and good for her.  Too bad her brother isn't always as cooperative.  He often comes up from his room and says "I have to tell you just one more thing..."

Not enjoying getting her nails clipped.

Here's my first preggo shot.  I am 12 weeks and 6 daysin the picutre.  As I type this, I am 14 weeks and 2 days.  Our due date is July 16th.  Let the fun begin!!!

Caleb and dad playing Rock'em Sock'em Robots.  Caleb is having quite a time, sorry the quality isn't so goood, I just wanted to show his face since he's so excited to have beaten daddy.

Christmas morning 2009
It was a Star Wars/Princess Christmas this year.

Caleb with his new AT-TE walker.  He has quite a few things now, including some of dad's things (I know-shocker, but he only gets to play with them for a short while and only a few things at a time.  Don't get too excited, there are still rules with the old man's stuff!!!)

Santa brought Caleb AND dad a light saber in their stockings so they could have battles together.

Okay, so it wasn't all princesses, she did get a little Barbie vet center so she could check out her animals.

Ellie with her favorite "prince" the Beast.  He is pretty cool because you can change him into the prince that he turns into at the end of the movie.  She really likes that she got some boys to play with too.  Now, she is a little more accepting of if the baby is a boy because he could play with these two princes since he would be a boy and they are boys.  It's pretty funny, the logic of a three year old.

Check out that face.  He didn't want to take a picture with his old mom.  I like to take a picture of me with each of my kids on Christmas-don't know why.  and he has been a little bit of a stinker with me lately.  He won't really hug anyone and he really doesn't like kisses.  Oh well, I guess that's how boys roll.

Finally his own walkie talkies.  My dad has some at the cabin and Caleb just loves to play with them. Now he has his own.  Too bad Ellery hasn't quite figured out how to use them yet.  At least they are having fun trying to play with them!

The kids made clay ornaments for my mom this year and we also gave her the usual photo calendar.

Our family at Christmas at my mom's.  Our last Christmas as a family of 4...

Prepping for the holidays/fun traditions

Christmas Party at dance class

Frosty visited dance class today and they got to dance with him. Ellery thought it was pretty fun.

We were invited in to the classroom again to see what they are learning. It was pretty cute. This time, I brought the "real" video camera, and I don't know how to upload video from that. I taped the little dance that they did for us today on that.

A visit with the Claus.

Tim thought this Santa looked like he had just hopped off of his Harley-what do you think?

Disney Princesses on Ice:
My mom and I took our little "Belle" to see the Princesses. She really liked the princesses, but the witches and Ursula were really scary to her.
Baking Christmas cookies with Grandma G.

Our second time in the snow. Ellery lasted all of about 2 minutes and then she said "my eyes are cold."

Christmas with the Joneses.
We celebrated early with Tim's family because Grammy is now in Georgia visiting the rest of the family for Christmas. The above is playing the "dice game" which Grammy plays with the kids every year and gives them little gifts. The kids think it's pretty fun!
Here's Ellery in the "Christmas Moose" shirt. This started off with Nicholas, and we decided that since everyone except Katy had worn this shirt, we should have Ellery wear it too. She wasn't the happiest when we put it on her and covered her pretty dress, but she dealt...
His first RC car-from Grammy.
Our finished product-Chex mix. They did help me make it too.
Goofy again.
Her Christmas dress.
Helping Grandpa put out the Christmas decorations at Grandma's house. It is blurry, but it was just cute seeing him evaluate the decorations with my dad. He was very serious about where the figures should go.
This is her new coat and hat that I just couldn't pass up at the craft show. Tim thinks she looks like a cupcake!
Goofing off in the cupboard. Just a little silliness :)

Oh and for those of you who get to the bottom of my entire post...if you check out the little tickers on the side of my blog, you will see I added a little ticker to my blog...
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Happy Halloween 2009

Here the kids are on our front step with their pumpkins. They were so excited to go out and get lots of candy!

With our neighbors-the boys were all characters from Star Wars-big surprise. They all had a really fun time together as they do every year.
Check out my loot!

Cleaning out "the girls' " pumpkin. Ellery and Caleb decided that the pumpkin carving would go by gender. Caleb wanted to be with dad despite the fact that dad had his own ideas about carving. I said next year dad would have to get his own pumpkin so Caleb could do his very own design on his pumpkin instead of a combo deal with what dad wanted!
They had a lot of fun anyway. Caleb still did not dig the "guts" He said dad had to get all of it out. He touched it once and made a face. He was done after that. Queasy stomach I guess.
Caleb with his best buddy, Ty, at preschool.
Can't you just see his excitement for singing the songs. He had been singing them for a few weeks at home and knew them very well. When I asked him if he was going to sing the songs (he was in his classroom just before the little parade) he said "Well, I don't know about that!"
His anxiety totally taking over. Oh well, at least he didn't run away!

Happy Fall Everyone!
